Welcome to Rainmac, the home of waterproof and weatherproof rainwear. Rainmac raincoats are high quality, unique, distinctive coats for men, women and children.

When did it all begin? Rainmac, a family business was started by Robert Orr in 1994. Robert was out shopping wearing a traditional British made Mackintosh coat. Someone stopped him in the street and asked him where he got his raincoat from. This happened again the following week and as a result he started to wonder if there was an opportunity for him to start a business selling Mackintoshes by mail order. Firstly, he needed to find someone to make his coats. His search ultimately led him to one of the few remaining manufacturers in Scotland.

As his mail order business grew a retail shop was opened in Midhurst, West Sussex. Robert was also quick to spot the potential of the internet and the business went online in 1996. The business has expanded from initially supplying traditional Macintoshes to supplying other raincoats, capes and accessories. Other family members have now joined the business. Rainmac prides itself on its customer service and going the extra mile.
